AT A GLANCE
RUNFASTER4EU is creating a sustainable and replicable bio-based value chain for large-scale cultivation of oil crops on marginal lands.
The aim is to transform these unproductive, and non-economical lands into productive sources of feedstock for bio-based industries.
Through advanced biorefinery processes, realised in two flagship plants in Italy, the project converts vegetable oils and residual biomass into high-value bio-based products in a cascading approach. These include bio-building blocks and intermediates, cosmetic formulations, bio-stimulants, feed ingredients, herbicides, dielectric fluids, bioplastic, and NIPU for vertical gardens.

Field activities under RUNFASTER4EU are advancing with the establishment of replication field sites in Spain, supporting the evaluation of low-impact oil crops.
RUNFASTER4EU participated in the annual Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) Cluster Workshop, held in Brussels.
