Field activities under RUNFASTER4EU are advancing in Italy, with ongoing work in the Campania region focusing on the expansion of safflower cultivation and strengthening local value chains.

Novamont is continuing to expand large-scale safflower cultivation in the Campania region, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable agriculture and local value chains.

Following the launch of a farmer engagement campaign in collaboration with Coldiretti, field visits were carried out to assess the suitability of farms and growing conditions.

In the first months of the project, 65 hectares of safflower have already been successfully established in the rural areas of Benevento and Avellino. Monitoring activities are ongoing, with data being collected to further improve agronomic practices under real farming conditions.

This approach combines technical support with agreements with farmers, enabling both the scalability of the initiative and strong engagement with local communities.

Activities will continue in the coming months, with further monitoring and data collection supporting the optimisation of cultivation practices and the continued development of sustainable, bio-based value chains.
