The RUNFASTER4EU consortium recently gathered in Caserta, Italy, for the project’s General Assembly, marking an important milestone as the project completed its first year of implementation.
Held on 1 July 2026, the first day of the meeting brought partners together to review the progress achieved so far, exchange updates on ongoing activities, and align the next steps for the upcoming phase of work. As RUNFASTER4EU enters its second year, the General Assembly provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen collaboration across the consortium and ensure that all partners remain aligned with the project’s objectives, timeline, and expected impact.
During the General Assembly, partners discussed the progress made across the project’s technical, sustainability, stakeholder engagement, communication, dissemination and exploitation activities. Particular attention was given to the coordination of the next phases of implementation, including the development of sustainable agro-industrial value chains, the advancement of biorefinery-related activities, and the preparation of future actions that will support replication, stakeholder involvement and market uptake.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of collaboration between agriculture, industry, research and innovation actors. RUNFASTER4EU brings together a multidisciplinary consortium with expertise across the entire value chain, from crop cultivation and biomass valorisation to product development, sustainability assessment, stakeholder engagement and exploitation.
As RUNFASTER4EU enters its second year, the consortium remains committed to advancing sustainable bio-based value chains based on low-ILUC-risk oil crops cultivated on marginal lands. By combining circularity, industrial innovation and environmental sustainability, the project aims to contribute to the future of the European circular bioeconomy.
The General Assembly concluded with wrap-up discussions and a shared commitment to continue working together towards the successful implementation of the project’s next phases.
